Alone but not lonely in Book Two

Another day, another day.
Yesterday was fine. Turned out more or less like I thought. The market was not fruit or seafood as I had assumed but little restaurant stalls, like you might find in Singapore. Nice. Even though I wasn’t hungry, I had a nice pork and cheese bun. Yum.

This morning I slept in till shortly after 5am. No rush. I’m having breakfast with my American Friend - Joe. He’s not an early bird like me, so we are meeting at 8:30. The restaurant will be nuts. I may suggest going over to the river to eat.

So far today it’s just been coffee and video games. I scanned the news but with Trump in the White House, I can’t stand most of the American news, at least what I read in The New York Times.

I’ve tried to cancel my subscription twice, but they always offer $2/month. How can I refuse that? Even if I only read the news about Canada, Taiwan and China, do a couple of puzzles and look at the recipes, it’s worth it.

I might go and look at those Japanese Tombs today. I guess we’ll see how I feel after my meeting with American Joe. I’ve become a real loner. Alone but not lonely. Except for talking to my cameras, to food vendors, penpals and writing here, I don’t really talk to anyone.

Oh yeah. I did talk to the missus on the phone on Sunday. It was nice to hear about the handbag, the cat and the youngest daughter. No drama, at least not very dramatic drama is my life back there.

And here.
