Various things have been going on including a Thanksgiving Holiday. I spent Thanksgiving at one son’s house and had a very relaxed day. I did not have to cook nor was I allowed to bring anything in the way of dessert or candy. So in my infinite wisdom I brought flowers. There were three other guests and mu son Tom and Mary his wife. Dinner was fantastic as well as being traditional Thanksgiving fare. The desserts were good but would have been better if I had any choice in their selection.
Doris and I spent a quiet evening on Friday and we separated rather early as I had the AA Meeting to set up early Saturday. After the meeting was finished I did some food shopping and while I was unpacking at my house Doris called. I knew she was busy both Saturday and Sunday minding her grandchildren. Well Doris gave me an invitation to join her with the three children Saturday afternoon to meet the kids and lend a hand with their activity. I met them at Chucky-Cheese a place where robots entertain and token activated games abound. It is designed to help children get loud and rambunctious. Doris laughed and laughed at me and said the ” Greater love no man hath ” than going to Chucky Cheese.
Saturday night I went on an AA Speaking commitment. It was a One Speaker followed by an Open Discussion Meeting and began at 7 pm and ended at 8 pm.
Sunday I went to a 9:30 am meeting with my sponsor and enlisted his help. We went for breakfast and asked him to act I as a Temporary Sponsor for a friend of mine who just had his sponsor move away. He himself has 4 years and I think that he and Joe might make a good match. If it works out then all well and good and if not nothing ventured, nothing gained..
