Storms of November in The View from the Terrace

It’s so quiet here. We have had almost non stop rain this week and the whole area is flooded. There have been no trains today on the railway at the bottom of our garden and now the main road behind it is closed so there is no traffic either. The railway has closed occasionally for a few hours from time to time for various reasons but I can’t ever remember the road being closed before. I read on Facebook that the river on the Welsh border has risen very high and the bridge is damaged. In the next village to us the brook has burst it’s banks and the centre of the village is under water. I am safe as our house is halfway up a hill.

Hubby is in Cardiff with Louise. She is not well again so I am here on my own. Just me and Suki.

We had hoped to go to our folk club next Tuesday but, even if the water has gone down by then I don’t think Hubby will be able to leave Louise alone just yet. Anyway, the car broke down last week during Hubby’s brief visit and he had to go back to Cardiff on the bus. The weather has been too bad to call a mechanic up here so it is just standing outside.

Hubby and I had been practicing a new song for the folk club. We don’t often perform together but this song needed two voices. The song is called Storms of November. Ironic, isn’t it?
