My 4 month old son Leo has a bilateral hernia. The surgeon set up the babies surgery as soon as Monday because they fear the possibility of strangulation. When they told me not to wait I decided to immediately schedule my husband days off with his boss so he could come with me. I won't lie to you I am concerned for my son.

We have to get a background check so my husband and I will be able to stay at the Ronald McDonald house in Charleston. After Leo was born due to him being a premie born at 32 weeks he spent time in Huntington in the NICU this summer. The Ronald McDonald house did everything they could to help us. They went above and beyond I will be forever grateful for their help. You will never hear my say anything negative about the Ronald McDonald house. They really help me out when Leo was born and will help us again during his bilateral hernia surgery.

Even though I have been going through very depressive time since Leo was born I must admit my son is and always will be the most important person in my life. I have been taking antidepressants and seeing a therapist and discuss my feelings about things in my life. I chose to get help for my mental health so I can be a better mother for Leo.

Tomorrow my husband has off. After I make arrangements for Leo's appointment and for the Ronald McDonald house in the morning I plan to Doordash because I hope we will have money to care for ourselves while my son is recovering from his surgery.

I am trying to be strong for my son. I am trying to be a warrior instead a worrier but I often feel doubt and fears for the future. I love Leo I just got to keep strong even when I doubt myself.
