I couldn't have been any more ecstatic than I was on Friday when Gurney's last day in the office had come and gone. I didn't care what his day was like or how everything played out for him in the end. I made zero effort to wish him well, nor did I exert myself to tell him goodbye. He's not worth effort or my time. All I knew was that come Monday, he would no longer be reporting to our office and he would be allowed to infect another office.
During the near three years he was in our office, he created more problems than he solved. He contributed to at least one worker quitting, being that he was a bully of sorts. Gurney intimidated that worker, to where that worker eventually felt that she had no choice but to leave the department entirely. He was very egotistical and genuinely believed that he knew everything. No one could help him because he never needed it. He didn't require even the slightest bit of guidance or redirection because he knew it all.
If you ask me, I will tell you directly.
Gurney was, in the end, of very little value. I had later learned that Morie didn't fight for him, meaning that she never challenged his transfer request and exerted whatever power she may have had to keep him. She too wanted him gone and frankly, the sooner, the better. If she could have expedited his request for transfer, she would have. She wanted him gone and she wanted him gone yesterday.
It is my understanding that absolutely no one is giving Gurney even the slightest bit of confidence at his new office and new position, at least no one who has been with the department for more than five years. I kept hearing all kinds of things about how Gurney is going to do once he arrives at his new position.
He's going to struggle.
He doesn't follow directions.
He can't mind deadlines or work within established time frames.
He thinks he can't do whatever he wants, whenever he wants.
He's just a shitty worker.
His cronies may think otherwise, but they're all retarded themselves in their own, slow and dumb ways. They're almost as bad as he is. I am hoping that Gurney completely falls flat on his face at his new office, because with all the problems he has created in our office, he deserves to fail. He is worthless and otherwise of very little value.
I am glad he left and I'm also hopeful that never returns. Gurney was and continues to be a massive piece of shit, who as a person, carries no value.
Good fucking riddance, asshole. You will not be missed, not in the slightest.
