Gradual Return To Gaming in Life And Times

I had written this really poetic and heartfelt entry, but I decided at the last minute to scrap the whole thing.  I spent a good part of the day writing it and piecing it together, but in the end, I wasn't feeling it and so I opted not to continue with it.  I tend not to proceed with entries in which I have no confidence.  This would have been one of those kinds of entries.

Today was all right.  Just another day really.  I went to work and was more motivated to get things done, a lot more motivated than I was yesterday.  I would consider myself to have been productive today.  Maybe I can build upon this momentum and be even more productive tomorrow?  We shall see.  I make no promises though.

I was able to sneak in a few games of Battlefield 6 tonight.  I find that as aggravating as this game can be at times, it is still a worthwhile means of passing the time before I go to bed.  I figure that I just need to play more games and get that practice in and eventually, I'll see myself getting better.  I'm not completely terrible, but I'm nowhere near as good as maybe I can be.  As is my mentality when it comes to competitive online games such as Battlefield 6, I just never want to be the worst player of everyone playing.  I don't think I'm that bad, but I would like to get better.

Years ago, I used to buy used gaming accessories all the time and back then, I wouldn't have thought much of it.  It makes me wonder if people were cleaner then, at least when it came to keeping their controllers in decent shape.  I have two light blue PS5 controllers, both of which I bought from other people, and both controllers have problems.  One of them appears to have problems with stick drift.  I can't fix that.  The other might need a good cleaning because the face buttons and the directional pad aren't as responsive as I'd like them to be.  I want to say that this second controller may have gotten dirty on the inside because to put it bluntly, the buttons and directional pad feel sticky.  I don't want to think as to that this stickiness could be.  I want to think that it could be caused by food, likely sugar, but frankly, I don't think I want to explore the true cause of this stickiness.  Either way, both controllers are going to require professional cleaning because I don't like taking controllers apart and I sure as hell don't feel like cleaning either of these controls.  I'd sooner pay someone to clean them professionally rather than discard them and buy two brand new controllers.  I believe that that stick drift is also fixable.  It just won't be by me.

The physical version of Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered comes out later this week.  I already bought the first collection of remastered Tomb Raider titles, so it only makes sense that I'd buy this second collection.  I've always enjoyed the Tomb Raider games, dating back to when the first game released back in 1996 on the original PlayStation.  Still, I'm not in any hurry to play any of the games on this latest Tomb Raider collection, but for collection's sake, I'd prefer to buy it sooner rather than later.

Battlefield.  Tomb Raider.  Gaming is still slow, but perhaps things are looking up.  I find that because I go to bed so early these days, I'm not gaming as much as I used to.  I'm still taking advantage of the overtime that I'm allowed to work and because of that, I'm more than willing to forego some game time for the sake of getting up early, starting my workday before the sun comes up, and padding the paycheck.  Opportunity cost, I suppose.

I'm steadily getting back into gaming.

Aside from work, I don't have much else going on, so why not?
