Yesterday while my husband watched my son I hung up clothes,washed clothes and changed the cat litter in my litter boxes. I felt really accomplished that I managed to do this before i had to meet my brother
I met my brother at my mom's house with my car. It has been having idling problems. 2 days ago my brother taped open the idle and put seafoam in the gas. He said the seafoam breaks up the carbon in the engine and helps it run better. Yesterday my brother replaced the fuel filter. It does run significantly better than it did.
My car is a 1994 Dodge Spirit with less than 150,000 miles it spent most of its life in a garage. I paid $1,500 from a person who didn't know how to repair it. My brother and I meet up and he teaches me to do repairs. We were talking about possibly repainting it. I love not having cat payments. The seldom repair costs is way better because the parts are cheap and diying it makes it even cheaper. Best of all my brother and I use it as an excuse to spend time together.
My brother and I were raised in this garage. My dad taught us to use tools and do our own repairs when dad passed my brother and I continue using his tools to repair both our vehicles. It's a nice family tradition.
I really need to clean and organize this garage. I might have mom care for Leo a bit so I can clean up her garage some. I need to find time to have my brother rewire some lights in the garage. I don't have much knowledge of electronics. My brother is trained in diesel,welding, and car repairs. He swears he isn't a mechanic I wish I had his knowledge.
We currently live in a trailer park but I hope to rebuild the mobile home on moms property and eventually move in. Where funds are low hiring someone else to do repairs doesn't happen. Being rich is a luxury I can't afford and that is why I diy. The renter rotted out the floors by not telling us there was a water leak he left and the power got disconnected shortly after. I now have to patch together what little is left behind. Thank God for YouTube it helps me how to do these repairs. In case you wonder why I don't just buy another house. Owning a house is a luxury I can't afford so I plan to diy the mobile home my mom owns so I can move out of the trailer park. It will be so nice not to have to pay rent.
While my husband is at work I might do some doordashing or install the bottle washer and figure out how to install the dishwasher. I am grateful mom helps me care for my son so I have time for repairs. When dad died mom moved in with me so she wouldn't be alone. I appreciate mom being here. She enjoys caring for my son while I do things to care for our entire family. I pay bills,run chores,clean and help mom. We take turns caring for Leo.
