Blissfully unaware in Book Two

Sometimes the most reasonable explanation is conspiracy. Like there is a conspiracy for the New York Yankees to lose to the Blue Jays in the devision finals. Like there is a conspiracy for the American political system to destroy America. What other explanations can there be?

I try not to think about things I cannot control. I try instead to focus on the here and now and maybe the near future but no further in the future than that. Truth is, it doesn’t make a difference if I pay attention to the news or plan for the future anyway. When I used to pay attention to things I was no better at prediction what was going to happen next than I am now.

And there is something to be said for blissful ignorance.

So the Blue Jays humiliate the New York Yankees (twice) and domestic and international politics, dubious economic policy ruin supply chains, lower GDP, upturn world order. There is a madman in the Whitehouse. Wars rage on. And space lasers that control the weather bring another glorious weekend. Two out of three ain’t bad.
