8) Gorgon

Gorgon would be the most recent addition to the work group, though this doesn't mean that she brings anything to the proverbial table.  She officially joined the work group in August 2025.  I don't hold her in high regard, not in the slightest, and I don't think I ever will.  In fact, she used to be one of the supervisors in the office, but in just over a year's time, she proved that she couldn't handle the job and just before the summer of this year, she decided that she didn't want to be a supervisor anymore.  She will tell you that she self-demoted and that she and her family talked about it and in the end, they agreed that her being a supervisor was not the ideal move to make at this point.  I will tell you that she is full of shit and that she self-demoted before management demoted her themselves and for the overall good of the office, because her inability was visible for everyone to see.

Gorgon was a terrible supervisor, so her stepping down was not a surprise and frankly, it was a welcome move.  As far as I could tell, none of the other supervisors in the office cared for her and she was slowly, but surely, becoming a major liability.  Everybody knew it and it had reached a point where she really couldn't hide it anymore.  As her time as a supervisor progressed and the people in her work group had a chance to see and experience her ineptitude firsthand, those in her work group started leaving.  The ones that hadn't left were planning their respective exits and it would only be a matter of time before everyone was gone.  I know one of them used her pregnancy to leave and I know that there was a rumor that that worker will not be returning.  I don't think that worker got pregnant solely for the purpose of leaving the work group, but I know that she was looking to leave in whatever way she could.  Her getting pregnant, I think, was incidental, but it worked.

Gorgon failed as a supervisor, so I have no reason to think that she'll be good in any other capacity for as long as she remains employed by the department.  Management kept her on-board out of desperation and because we're hard up for people and not because she's in anyway valuable or worth a damn to the department.  From what I've seen thus far, she tends to keep to herself.  That's probably a good thing, since there's nothing that she can really offer anyone.  She can't teach anyone anything.  She can't guide or lead a group of people.  She lacks responsibility.  I haven't seen her work product in her post-demotion era nor have I seen her writing, so I can't comment on either.  Given what I have seen and what she has done in the past, there's no reason for me to be optimistic about any of the work she does now.

Though this is just a rumor, there's word circulating around the office that she is looking to leave.  She just doesn't found anything yet.  Maybe finding her brain might be a start, because she's dumb as hell as it is and she is of no use to the work group or really, the office as a whole.
