7) Vonda
Vonda came into the work group alongside Kyra and while most would think that they are friends, Vonda will vehemently deny it. I understand that. Under no circumstance would I ever want to be associated with or to Kyra either. While Vonda might have you think that she has a mind of her own, the reality is that she often follows what Gurney and Kyra do. I'm convinced that she is very much a follower and nowhere near a leader. So really and as much as she might want to deny this as well, Vonda shares that same useless brain that Gurney and Kyra have shared for well over a year. Vonda treats Gloria like dirt, just like Gurney and Kyra do. Birds of a feather, I guess. I ignore Vonda completely. Vonda is also of that mindset that everything in the work group has to be even and equitable and while she may not be as as vocal or boisterous as Kyra is when it comes to complaining about workloads, she will still bitch and complain, though in a much quieter and nowhere near as annoying fashion.
Vonda is a part of the clique within the work group and she is also a member of the "new school" group of workers that currently infect much of the office. As I said earlier, she did her training at the same time that Kyra did. Vonda tends to keep to herself, but when Kyra and other people stop by her cubicle, she will engage in conversation and lose a good chunk of her day in the process. Because her voice carries, there are times when I have the misfortune of hearing some of those conversations. She doesn't speak particularly well and honestly, I don't see her as being particularly intelligent either. She's just kind of there. She does her job, though she does not go above and beyond when she does it. Maybe she's the epitome of mediocre? She's plain. She's basic. If "no frills, no thrills" was a person, Vonda would be it.
When driven to it, Vonda will complain about things, though she isn't as loud or obnoxious as Kyra is. But like Kyra does, Vonda will say things and then laugh immediately after, like there's this constant stream of jokes piping into her faulty brain and only she can hear them. The difference is that Kyra's laugh is absolutely annoying and is just grating to the ears. Vonda's laugh isn't as annoying, though I'd rather not have to listen to either of their laughs.
Vonda is more efficient than Gurney and Kyra are, though I think that such an assessment of her abilities speaks more to how terrible and inefficient Gurney and Kyra are, rather than how good Vonda might be at doing her job. In using a scale between one and 10 (with one being the absolute worst), if I rate Kyra a "1" and Gurney at a "2", does my rating Vonda as a "3" make her really that impressive of a worker? It doesn't. She's still very much lackluster and not even remotely impressive.
Vonda is painfully average, at best. As I said earlier, she's just kind of there.
