The goal is to write here every day. Just three or four paragraphs. One topic. Sometimes two. It is a good intellectual exercise, getting thoughts down on paper. Writing here also has the qualities of being both social and contemplative as well. I’ve been thinking a lot about the five pillars of a happy day.
And to be happy, you have to feel good. Physically, I am feeling my age. I have a stiff neck, sore shoulder and the lingering effects of my frozen shoulder - a sore arm. Exercise. Walking, lifting weights and doing push-ups helps. Swimming is good too. I got up this morning and ordered some CBD softgels. I hope they will help. Since we are on the topic of soreness and stiffness, the middle three toes on my left foot and sometimes my right hip - too much walking, too much sitting. Stretching helps. Note to self: Do more stretching.
Old people like to talk about their ailments. They are top of mind. It is also a way we connect. We have the sands of time in our joints. We have aches and pains and so do our sisters. It is just the way it is. So, you can’t let it get you down. It might slow me down, but life is a marathon and I suppose these last miles are going to be uphill a little bit.
