Five short term goals:
1. Lose 15 pounds - I’ve gained close to that since I had surgery on August 4, so I’d like to get back down to where I was pre-surgery. It’s gonna be hard though as I still have some restrictions on my activity level. And I still can’t get in the swimming pool, my favorite form of exercise.
2. Finish my afghan - I’d like to give this to someone for Christmas… so it’s something I really need to concentrate on doing. Though, it seems likely it will be a gift NEXT Christmas.
3. Read “50 Shades of Grey” - I have a gift card for Barnes & Noble, so I will use that with my 20% off coupon and member card, and perhaps have enough left over for a hot chocolate from the Starbucks there. Sounds like a good read for a cold wintry day, since we skipped fall.
4. Mail out my Christmas cards before December 23. - This may not seem like a big thing, but I tend to procrastinate… and I get busy and I forget about it.
5. Get kissed under the mistletoe. - Well, it is that time of the year soon… and I think that’s kinda romantic. I can’t help it. I am a girl… sometimes. And I do love kissing the right person.
Five long term goals
1. Get my instructor credentials - my dream class to teach would be the EMT-Basic class. I think it’s the most important class anyone in EMS will ever take. Because if you can’t do basic skills, such as assessment, you can’t treat the patient with any advanced life support. You have to be able to identify what needs treatment!!
2. Dance. - This is a big thing for me, since I’m currently down one toe. It doesn’t seem to have affected my balance so much… but I’d still like to do this again. I miss it.
3. Develop a better relationship with God - Right now… we’re cautious friends. But I’m trying. I tend to ask “Why?” a lot instead of having faith in his plans. I think perhaps I would be more at peace if this happens.
4. Go on a real date. - Yanno, the kind where I wear something nice, put on my makeup, and wear perfume? So I look pretty and can be amazingly girlie. But not too girly.
5. Die. - Because I want one goal that is surely to be accomplished. But I hope it’s a lot further down the road, as there are a lot of things I’d like to do before that happens. The illustrious Bucket List, yanno.
