Hooray the blahs have left and I am back on track to feeling like my old self. I didn’t realise how much I had missed sharing my life with people until I got back with Prosebox and to hook up again with lovely people like Gypsy Spirit and Osewego. Well all go back to the very beginning of journal keeping. We found each other on Open Diary. I joined in 98 way before Facebook was even thought of.
It was a fantastic community one for which I will always be grateful. I went through my Cancer journey in 2001 and the support and encouragement I got from OD was incredible. There were a group of gals from Oklahoma who called themselves the Okie Gals. They all knew each other personally.
Unfortunately three of them have now passed on and as for the other two. I keep contact with one on FB but I lost track of Riley way back in the day.
One the loveliest things that happened to me, was when I was diagnosed and had to have chemo etc. I went every day of OD to tell my story and really let go of how I was feeling about things. My kids kept telling me that I was not taking thing seriously, but I have always had a sense humour and I know that will get you through the worst of times. It certainly has for me. Anyhow in the midst of the dreaded chemo, losing my hair and all that jazz, one day there was a courier was on my front door step with a parcel. It came from Oklahoma and inside was a fabulous red stetson hat with feathered band. Those gorgeous women had sent it too me. This is what online communities are all about. I cannot begin to tell you how I felt . I have worn it in shows and someone always remarks about it and I get a chance to tell them the story.
Well the sun is peeking through time to walk Buddy.
