It has been regular going around here. I’ve been out on my bike, doing the northern loop up to the expressway on Tuesday and yesterday doing the southern loop down around the golf course. The northern loop is 40 minutes of straight riding. The southern loop is 10 minutes longer. Sometimes I do both loops - a figure 8. But it has been a couple of months since I’ve been out on my bike and too much of a good thing is a bad thing so… maybe in a few weeks when it gets hotter.
And the pool is perfect. This is why I bike. Just so I can jump in the pool and float around with a beer afterwards. I’ll put on yacht rock or laurel canyon harmonies.
-_-
And I go to Costco and buy eggs and avocados, bread and potato chips… $300 worth of food. The Costco is full of idiots on a summer afternoon. The walking dead. Everyone is shuffling along at half speed and is directionally challenged. One guy I keep seeing only has two things in his cart. And he is crisscrossing the store like he has to buy his things in some kind of preordained order, maybe alphabetical order, maybe in order of how he thinks of them. I don’t know. And there are families. Does it really take all five of you to shop at Costco? They’re like ants that have found a dead beetle and are trying to get it back to their home. And there are retired couples. She’s got the list and is driving the cart. He’s looking around like it’s his first time in Egypt. At check out the people in front of me have purchased a table, 6 or 8 items of clothing and several kinds of cheese. I almost want to say something snarky to them about their upcoming fashion show and cheese eating party, but no, it’s business as usual.
