It’s funny how times change. We went and looked at used vans yesterday. A regional dealer. It is all he does - vans. Big ones, little ones, tall ones, short ones, high milage ones, low milage ones. Most are white in colour, more than 90%. The second most common colour is Home Depot orange. He had about 150 Vans. 10 were orange.
The sales guy said “go ahead look around, they are all open” and we went around and around the lot a couple of times, opening door, looking at milage and price.
I asked the sales guy later when we were in his office how much room there was to negotiate the price. “The price is the price.” I love that.
In the old days, we used to have to negotiate for big purchases - houses, cars, furniture, appliances… exhausting.
