Why I do what I do online and the feedback I get in Book Two

Most of my days are pretty much the same. And that’s a good thing. They have a certain rhythm. They are definitely not fast paced. Some day’s I cook something. Some days I drive. I usually read a book in the afternoon, something not too heavy. Lee Child currently. I pick at the news on the NYT and on Youtube, but halfheartedly.
I sketch and paint on a regular basis and post my work daily to a sketch a day site at 8pm. I have a streak going. I haven’t missed a day in nearly 140 days. I haven’t put a lot of effort into my art work recently. My sketches get about 25 likes a day. That is more than they deserve in my opinion.
For the past month and a half or maybe two months already, I have been making a daily video. About 10 to 12 minutes. Not a lot of thought goes into it. Mostly I just take a few points from this site, my own writings over the years and talk about them. It’s enough. I get about 100 views to a new video in the first 24 hours - that is an important metric. After a week, I average about 1200 views. I only mention the numbers because it is nice to get feedback. I know that everyday about 70 people come to my video and watch me and listen to what I have to say. That’s enough to make it worthwhile.
It is kind of like this site. Years ago I met a guy who said that when you move to a new town you only need to make one new friend. That’s all you need, at least to get started. Knowing that at least one person is going to read this is motivation enough to write.
