Small town life in Book Two

Living in a small town, I become attune to the rhythm of life. I’m out on the porch as the sun comes up and I hear my neighbours all about 7:30.
The ones on the right come back from their morning bootcamp.
The one on the left and the one across the street get into their SUVs and go to their jobs.
The joggers jog. The dog walkers walk.
At about 8am the kids will start walking by on their way to school.
And then about 8:30 traffic will build. If there are any home renovation projects going on in the neighbourhood, the contractors trucks will arrive.
Usually about this time, I will go inside and have breakfast.

I spoke with my accountant yesterday. He was full of news. He’s moving to Sauble Beach. He broke up with Alice, his girlfriend for the last couple of years. Bruce has a skin disease and is costing him a fortune in veterinarian bills. He gave me an update on small town accounting news, real estate, his sex life and blah blah blah. We’ve been friends for more than 20 years.

Today I am going to fry up some sausages for breakfast. Sourdough toast. I finished another book yesterday. That’s 5 Cameron Winter books in 15 days. I have the last in the series ready to go. I suppose I could go to library and find some more books. Or I could just go down to Kitchener and walk the streets there for a change. I like to do one thing a day. That’s it.
