I was at the dentist yesterday. I had my six month check up and cleaning. The hygienist, who was new to me, is male, fairly young and an interesting conversationalist. He told me things that I needn’t know - office gossip, money matters and his views on politics.
He cancelled his trip to Hawaii for October. He’s going to Portugal instead. Doesn’t like the politics coming out of the White House. There is a small element of fear too. Border crossing. Uncertainty.
It is true the news I saw on TV when I was in Taiwan. Canadians are not happy with our ugly redneck cousins to the south. We are protesting in our own quiet ways. Not visiting the country. Not buying your groceries. I was at the local grocery store earlier and noticed that the produce was subtly identified by nationality. I admit that I bought the cucumbers grown in Canada instead of the American ones. They will certainly be easier to digest.
And when I see the thumbnails on my Youtube home screen. Carney goes to Washington. Carley leaves for Washington. Carney arrives in Washington. OMG Carney is under a lot of pressure. He better not get Zelenskyyed. It is a true fear. It’s why Xi is ghosting the cowboys. You. Just. Don’t. Know. What. You. Might. Be. Walking. Into.
You just don’t know.
And I had a thought that popped into my head. Vividly. We don’t really know much about Carney. He could be an assassin. This could all be a ploy to get into the Oval Office and take out the president and as many of his minions as possible. I’ll be watching later this morning, just in case.
