To be idle and aimless without getting bored is true contentment.

Since I retired and since I’ve been living alone in Taiwan for most of the past six months I’ve found a real acceptance of slower living, emotional detachment, and I have developed a gentle resignation to fate.

My days are simple. Up with the sun. Out for breakfast and then a long walk along the river or the harbour front. Then back to the apartment for a lingering lounging late morning of internet, hobbies, news, a thermos of tea…

I could go on and tell you about my afternoons and evenings too. They are pretty varied and great - sometimes active, sometimes not. But it is the mornings that I really love.
