We have finally decided on a name for our daughter, I believe. We have known for years her first name - I have seen her many times in my dreams and she always had the same name. I knew she would either be conceived or be born during the Lyrid meteor shower in late April and sure enough she was conceived the last week in April just days after the peak of the shower, which just so happened to occur on Earth Day this year. There has never been a question that her first name would be Lyra.
But middle names… thats a different story. We have seriously been through every name I could think of. Some of our top contenders were (and maybe still are, if I change my mind lol) Nova, Hollis, Journey, Maeve, Carys, Auberon … and many more that didn’t make the final lists. Beau loved Maeve, Adam prefers Hollis and I think Nova is the best. We just couldn’t agree at all. But jokingly I said maybe we should just take the “m” off of Adam and use “Ada”- it kind of stuck and it seems like all three of us like it better than any of the others. Although Beau insists he will pronounce it Add-uh (like Adam) instead of Aid-ah. So maybe, just maybe, we have found her name. Of course things could always change so I definitely won’t be getting anything monogramed just yet, but at least I can stay off nameberry and the baby name app on my phone for a while.
