so last weekend was fun. went to minneapolis/st paul

a friend lives there and was a fun chance to get away. 200 bucks. left friday about 6 and got back sunday about 8.

friday was, of course, halloween. we dressed up as superheroes. i have a superman shirt i took but didn’t wear. i think there is a limit of 10 supermen/women per office. instead i kept my broccoli shirt on. something of the super vegetable defender. it had a drawing of broccoli and said something like, “yay, it’s broccoli!”

was going to leave early anyway, but forgot that one of our coworkers/friends was going to be visited by a couple of other coworkers. when they said they were going and asked i wanted to go, i hopped on that opportunity.

we caught up on her progress since she’s been out. she had a small stroke at work and has since been recovering. i think it’s been about 3 weeks. we’re hoping she’ll stay out until second semester and doesn’t try to rush back. she’s still seeing double and working on walking on her own again.

following the visit, i drove to the airport. flight wasn’t too bad. watched part of the hunger games, catching fire. until my tablet died. once i got there it was about midnight. got picked up by E. i was hungry, so we went to this pizza place. i found out meat raffles are a thing because the description of the pizza i got was something like winning a meat raffle. also got the brussel sprouts. not to brag, but i think mine are better.

saturday we went to the largest candy store in minnesota. it was a fun time being the only ethnic person the in jordan. got some good sodas, root bear and ginger ale. then we went to the mall of america and walked around. ate at this place called crave and had sushi. pretty good considering i saw no asians working there. maye in the back…i hope. went home took a nap. hung out. then we went to this place called the nook. basically a bar, but downstairs there is a bowling alley and more bar. got a take on a juicy lucy called the paul molitor. basically a burger with melted cheese inside. mine had a spicy version. we also got cheese curds with bacon and honey. liked them much better than i figured since i wasn’t sure how well the honey would play. each curd was like a slow death. my arteries clogged, but i kept eating.

sunday, we went to a bead show. not part of the plan, but they’re in town twice a year and she wanted to go. then we went to this east european place for brunch and had their buffet. we also went to the cathedral, which was pretty good. somehow i always end up going to church on vacation.

flew back after that and drove home. had some pad thai and crashed.
