Yay! Writing another entry!
Last night I went to a Halloween party hosted by my friend Kat. I have such a hard time with social stuff. I have to argue with myself to get myself to go and can easily talk myself out of going to something. It’s silly because I usually enjoy myself when I actually do hang out with friends, it’s just hard to overcome my antisocial/social anxiety/introverted nature.
Anyway, it was a good time. There were just 6 of us there, which is good, because I tend to get overwhelmed by large numbers and have a hard time contributing to conversation, and all were people I knew fairly well. Aaron and I were lazy with our costumes. It had been such a busy week for me that I didn’t have the time or energy to put anything terribly exciting together. I wore one of those ridiculous animal hats that was a fox and a scarf with a fox pattern. I was a Foxy Lady :P Aaron made a costume of an idea I came up with that I was actually pretty proud of. He wore a very small amount of toilet paper with brown splotches on it. Can you guess what he was? A Shitty Mummy :P They were good, minimal effort costumes. Aaron’s especially made people laugh.
At the party we drank cider and mulled wine and ate some snacks. We had a pumpkin carving contest where we picked a number from 1-8, were given a historical figure/celebrity and had to try to carve them and the best would be chosen by Kat’s mom. Aaron and I got Marilyn Monroe, Barrett and Tim did Che Guevara, and Kat and Genevieve ended up with Hitler. It was pretty amusing. I’ll have to see if I can get Kat to send me the pictures. The Hitler pumpkin won since it was most recognizably Hitler. Also, the pumpkin was rotting from within, which we all thought was apropos. Marilyn Monroe, mostly carved by Aaron since his artistic ability is better than mine and I’m bad at pumpkin art in general, kind of looked like a terracotta warrior, and Che looked like Mufasa. Afterward we retired inside and played a good game of Cards Against Humanity. Definitely a fun, laid back party :)
The critters have all been getting along fairly well and Harvey is getting more adorable by the day. One reader had the idea that I should post an entry introducing all of my animals, so I think I’ll do that in the near future as an entry topic. If you all have any other ideas for entries for me to do this month, I am open to suggestions :)
Mogget and Harvey have been starting to play adorable games, so I’m hoping for some interspecies cuddling in the near future. He’s a cute video of them and their shenanigans :) Click the link below since it’s on Photobucket and we’re not allowed to put videos from anywhere other than Youtube in our entries.
