I had an appointment yesterday. Heart rate was fine. She scheduled an ultrasound for 34 weeks to get a measurement. My fundal height was a little ahead so we just want to know what we’re getting into. Lincoln was 6lbs and if she’s going to be 9lbs I’d like to know.
I had a weird blood pressure issue this week. Not too high but very low. The last reading I had on Monday was 96/45. Midwife and I talked about it. She said as long as I don’t get dizzy she’s not really worried.
Ok I just peeked at the notes. My fundal height was measuring at 34 cm. It could be from just being in the afternoon and a full day of eating. Flora could’ve been positioned weird. There are a lot of factors. Fundal height isn’t an exact science.
Besides that things are fine. We scheduled the next 3 appointments for every other week. The nurse and I went over the basics for the birth plan. Well touched on it again. They ask at the 8 week appointment about all your plans. If you want a medicated birth. Plans for postpartum as far as baby preventative measures if any, and then at around 30 to 32 weeks they ask if things changed and if you have a carseat yet.
Unmedicated with my husband and hopefully doula.
I knew I wanted a second support person this time around, especially with his bum shoulder but he didn’t realize how much I wanted someone until 2 weeks ago. It was a strange conversation, honestly. He asked why we needed one and I said labor support. He looked confused and I mentioned that not only was he not in the room the entire time because he smokes but I also heavily relied on distraction and counter pressure with Lincoln which he had little to do with. Not purposely.
The epicondilitis in both sides were still healing because it takes a long time. And he was truly in a weird headspace when our son was born. I know things are different now and he is in a way better place mentally but with the shoulder injury, I know I won’t be able to even get a little physical support.
So that’s why I got a doula. It was that or beg someone to come hang out at their own risk.
So this weekend is more nesting stuff. Last weekend I finished my part of Lincolns room, mostly. This weekend I’m working on the totes in our room. The goal is to get the entire room cleaned and moved around. I told him I’m not comfortable moving big and heavy furniture this far in pregnancy but I’d like to get this done.
He sold a gun to get the water heater closet fixed. He’s draining it and pulling it. He said it’s probably a good idea to just replace it since it’s pretty old and probably won’t last. We have enough scrap wood and sheet rock to replace all the moldy spots but he still had to fix the plumbing leak that caused all this.
Then he said once the bedroom and that project is done, he’s hoping to get the main shed organized and things stored before baby arrives.
I’m hoping to get our bedroom deep cleaned. Ceiling to floor. The rest of the house is ready for her. I mean the living room had toys EVERYWHERE right now. He dumped all his blocks out yesterday.
The goal is to get the important projects done by the end of September. Then we can just maintain and relax until she’s here. The goal originally was to get it all done by now but the motivation wasn’t there. It is now! Better late than never I suppose!
