Just came back from a week-long vacation in maine. Weather could have been better cuz it rained or was misty most days but I did get to kayak, hike and swim in the lake. Had an air b&b in the woods, owners use it as a hunting cabin and although surrounded by trees and a small pond was on the property, saw zero wildlife! Same when our family would go to my aunt’s cabin in PA, no wildlife sightings. Oh well, i had a nice time.
Was with PrincessL and her family and a friend of theirs and PrincessM. My daughter was already up there with her in-laws at the camp that they have but we opted to get the band because of the baby plus the camp only has a toilet, no shower facilities and you sleep either in a tent or one of the two out buildings. Bob opted not to go because we took PrincessM up last year, dropped her at camp and then we went on to bar harbor and he was like, “been there, done that”. His loss☺️😆 altho I don’t think he could have handled the baby and young adults.
PrincessM asked if I would go next year and I would like to as I have always done things with the princesses ever since they were little, whether it was a day or two when they were little and then as they got older, going to the beach for a week. Bob doesn’t quite get that. He has gone on vacation with his daughter and her husband and to the same place but they do not have kids. His son has four boys but bob and his son are somewhat estranged and I think that deep down bob resents the bond that I have with my grands altho he doesn’t admit to it. In the summer I watch my son’s kids and I always ask bob if he wants to join us but he doesn’t. My mom always helped out me and my siblings and later on my dad would join my mom with being with the kids even if he just ended up sleeping while she did things with them so it is a natural for me and I have hard time wondering why bob doesn’t. II really is odd because growing up, bob’s grandparents lived next to his parents, they both worked and the grandparents helped out. Oh well, what can I say other than, “having a great time, wish you were here”.
