It’s not an issue with the specific personality, nor even the particularly aspects of their political agenda.

my primary issue with celebrity icons within the movement is that they tend to appropriate the work of others, disempowering the people who organised and made things happen with their vanity.

Perhaps more concerning is the manner in which sycophantic activists almost always bow to their presence and provide a platform for cultural worship advocating them above everyone else

This isn’t an assault on “Revolution cool” or some face or another doing the things we should do, the more people talking shop the better, but there is a privilege set that comes with fame and cameras and a few notable people abuse this.

There are noted excepting however, Icons who came up in the political world and have a platform due to their struggle and knowledge rather than their passing interest, or cause of the monthing. Further external celebrities who attend demos and marches but don’t seek to steal the light from the people but be one of the people.
