Falls and Park in In the Meadow

Life in the new school year has become mostly routine. The kids have adjusted fairly well. They go to a smaller school so they know most of the kids now. They are usually very willing to talk about school. I know this might change as they get older but for now they are still very open with me. I hope this will provide a good foundation of communication as they get older.

Today I picked up the kids from school. Most days they take the school bus, but sometimes I pick them up. We went to Niagara Falls State Park. The wind was blowing toward the falls. It blew against the falls and pushed the mist behind the falls. It makes the falls look like one side of a box made out of glass. Almost like it’s not really water. There was an almost complete rainbow over the American Falls. It went all the way to the bottom of the falls. We saw geese searching for food in the fast-moving water above the falls. The current would keep pushing them downstream and they would swim back to where they were. As we were walking we saw a car trying to turn around and go the wrong way down a one-way street. They figured it out and went the right way. Maybe they were from a country without one-way streets.

I have posted this for anyone else who spent their teen years as an Air Force brat and thinks this is the hottest movie scene ever.
