St. Vincent - movie review in keeping it postive

This is very much a Bill Murray movie - odd, quirky, warm hearted. I wasn’t really especially eager to see it, but it was what was playing at the time we got to the movie theater.

Melissa McCarthy, a newly single mom, and her son, move in next door to Vincent. The kid, small for his age, has a rough first day of school. He returns to his new home without his keys and stays with Vincent for the rest of the time till his mother arrives.

We learn bit by bit about who Vincent is - the good and the bad of him.

Turns out to be a much more enjoyable movie than I expected. Oh, and McCarthy is NOT over the top as she’s been in the recent comedies.

This was SO different from her usual spate of movies. She was low key, not over the top.

i've not seen her like that. even on mike and molly she's a bit loud and over the top. it will be interesting to see her toned down. take care,

She's a fighting single mom, but well within the "normal" limits of a woman who's stressed..

Yea I heard that got really good reviews and people are liking it a lot. We usually wait till a movie comes out on DVD and then download it tho. My Mom just got this new computer tho, and the guy who sold it to her had some program installed on it that lets you watch movies that are currently in the theaters. It's like when they send them to big wig people to review or something like that. So I might just have to borrow her laptop and watch it before it comes out on DVD! lol

Some movies NEED to be on the big screen. I love the theater experience. This one would be fine as a rental. Go for it!
