Sometimes we don’t realize how truly blessed we are until something negative takes place and we see others start working on helping the experience to become positive. My husband does independent contractor work through DoorDash. He was out working today and the car he’s only had a week or two broke down. For his own reasons he didn’t call his parents or me for help…or anyone else. Dinner time came around and I figured I would text him and see if he was coming home to eat. Twenty minutes passed and he hadn’t replied which is very unusual for him. Living outside the Detroit area, when someone goes silent, even for twenty minutes, your mind can start wandering to all the possibilities of what is going on (assault, theft, car accident, etc). I messaged him again and he responded with saying he was trying to get the car to start. Apparently he had been trying to get it to start for awhile by the time he messaged and told me. I drove to his location, ended up calling my son and his dad (who knows quite a bit about vehicles) and together all of us figured out the issue and managed to resolve it. I followed him home in case the vehicle had more issues and got home around 10PM, had our dinner together, fed the cat, and expressed our appreciation for having good acquaintances, friends, and family. Thank God for good people!
