If you could go back in time and thank anyone for anything they have done, who would you thank and why? While I’m sure this is referring to people you are close to or were close to, I can think of many people, close to me or complete strangers, who have done something that has assisted me in some way or another. Thanking everyone would probably take quite a bit of time for me because I’d actually have to do research on who all the people were that I would have to thank.
While I am not overly religious by any means, I would start with God because He is the one who made all of it possible in the first place. My family members would be next in my list of giving thanks to because of various reasons some of which are: giving me life, protecting and saving my life, being not just a family member but also a best friend, listening to me rather than just hearing me speak, knowing I care about them without requiring me to always to be present or reminding them of it…the list goes on and on and on. I could get very deep into this but perhaps that is for other posts later in my online public journaling journey. True friends have been very few in my life but as I am getting older I realize exactly who they have been. The support from those extreme few have been absolutely phenomenal and I’m honestly indebted to them. There are the random strangers who have I met in my life who have left a lasting impact, like the guy in the grocery store who upon first sight of one another had an immediate and unexplainable connection to one another for no obvious reason at all. We told each other hello with smiles on our faces and when we saw one another on another grocery aisle, we smiled again. It wasn’t a chemistry thing at all. It was just like we knew each other instantly but also was fully aware we hadn’t ever met…at least not in this lifetime. The people who we have taken for granted…we should always be thankful for them whether it’s for life lessons or things they’ve done that have improved our lives immensely. Think along the lines of exes, past coworkers, inventors (Thomas Edison, Alexander Graham Bell, etc.). Really, we have so much to be thankful for in our lives. There’s no way we could possibly ever thank everyone. Try to always be thankful in your hearts and in your minds. Even the little things can be big things to someone!
