I know full well how plot devices work and that in the world of television, logic takes a huge hit, but it is really starting to jump the proverbial shark. Let’s take a look at some of the latest (and not so latest) WTF storylines/moments.

Grey’s Anatomy
I don’t understand how Alex did not gain Christina’s vacant board seat. She legally turned over her shares to him. I know Avery said that any new board members would be voted upon but if an existing board member turned over her shares, legally, I would say that trumps brining in a new board member or at the very least would have given either Christina or Alex a vote. Did anyone even consult Christina? You can’t tell me that Mer & Chris have cut off all contact with each other and that it is too expensive to call Switzerland. Skype is free if you have the internet, which clearly Grey Sloane has. It’s not that I hate Bailey, which I do, that bothers me, it is the fact that there was nothing more than a presentation and a vote. Nobody consulted a lawyer (Alex) or Christina (Every Board Member) or even took into account Christina’s wishes (every single Board Member).

I can’t even go into the Ellichard baby at this point.

CSI
Does anyone remember all those years ago when the show premiered the point they made that they were not cops, they were “criminalists”? They were all about the science and there was more than one detective they worked with. Now they all carry guns and have badges (congratulations on making it through the academy and completing all those patrol years, etc.) They conduct the interrogations (because Brass is not around) and the lab rats have time to go into the field and collect evidence & test it onsite (thanks to those fancy SUVs and futuristic state of the art portable testing labs that process DNA in nanoseconds). I remember when cast members were testifying before congress to get more money for crime labs and now they shove it in their faces that they don’t have the toys and resources the television wonderland police departments have.

Also, does anyone else find it odd that there have been so many Seattle connected cases. Would that really happen? Are there Las Vegas criminals following Grissom on his Eat Pray Love trip? What about good old Cat, are there criminals galore chasing after that skanky stripper?

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit
How does Amarro still have a job with NYPD let alone still be in the Special Victims Unit? The man has been accused more than a few times of inappropriate behavior with women, so why would they allow him to stay in a unit that deals with rape victims? Wouldn’t that be a conflict of interest? Especially since he has pretty much called more than one victim a liar? And what about how he beat the crap out of the pedo? He was in Ryker’s which is more than just regular lockup. And they deal with a lot of pedos. AND how did he go from patrol, where yet another woman accused him of inappropriate behavior, back to SVU so quickly? He beat up a pedo and now he is just back investigating them? It does not make sense at all.

And that is what has me scratching my head this week. Stay tuned for a Thoughts On… new shows.
