Character of Convenience in Insignificant Me?

There is a saying at my place, “Your friends show who you are!”. Believe me, this does not apply to me. I am with people who can change their character as per their convenience. I don’t know which one you met!
I know my friends are multifaceted and can throw me under the bus at any moment. From an outsider’s point of they are the worst you can have around but for me they are the best! They taught me how to interact with people.
I used to share my problems but they taught me my problem belongs to me. Resolving obstacles should not involve them but if I need help they will be there. Their helping hand comes with the condition to tell them my need to get myself out of the situation, not the problem.
My friends taught me, I should learn to trust more on myself than anyone else. It’s rare to find people who can stick along for a long time without bragging about what they did for you. I’m fortunate to have relations that do not care for validation!
