Every time someone says something like, “there’s absolutely no reason for a child or young teen to have anything in common with an adult, unless the adult is using this as a pretense to a molest kids” a drastically autistic tween who is hyperfocused on early 20th century vinyl or vacuums knows this is obviously wrong and asinine and dismisses yall concern outright on their way to meetup full of middle-aged men who are interested in that thing.

The kids at most risk of being molested by an adult are probably isolated from their peers for some reason, telling them to interact with kids their age and denying or overlooking that reason, only makes it more so that the middle-aged men are the only people they will relate to.

The truth is, there are kids who are every bit as capable of having a conversation with an adult on many topics, and also like any adult with qualities like naivete or smallness which could make anyone with those qualities a target, they need to be protected from abusive people who may harm them.
