We had a nice visit with my parents on Thursday. They came over in the afternoon and played with the kids for a bit. They were thrilled to see Miles taking a few steps here and there. He even walked to my mom at one point which was awesome because he’s always been a really big Momma’s boy and rarely goes to other people when I’m right there. He’s only been taking steps for almost 2 weeks now and he just keeps getting better and better at it each day. Today he walked halfway across the room! It’s so cute to watch too because he has his arms up a bit and you can tell he’s so determined not to fall. And if he does he just starts crawling lol. I’d say by the end of the month he’ll probably be walking full time or at least very close to that because he’s trying a lot more than Cody did when he first started. My parents and I also went for a walk downtown with the kids where I had to pick up some bread and milk. It was a warm day and so we wanted to get out and enjoy the fresh air rather than be stuck inside. Later on we ate some shepherd’s pie which my parents had made that morning and brought so I wouldn’t have to cook. That was really thoughtful of them. I love not cooking lol. And they make awesome shepherd’s pie! My ground beef loving husband said he could eat that every day lol.

Unfortunately, Miles is STILL sick with some congestion in his little nose and he’s a bit more tired than normal. That’s 3 weeks now. On the plus side, my parents were very generous and surprised us with 2 humidifiers for the boys since we haven’t bought any yet. It’s something we keep meaning to buy but either expenses come up or we forget. So it’s great to finally have a couple of those, especially considering cold and flu season is upon us. Cody doesn’t have a cold anymore but I set up Miles’ humidifier the other night and it was comforting to sit in his darkened room before he went to bed feeding him his bottle of milk and listening to the bubbling of his humidifier emitting some steam and the scent of vicks.

I have about a hundred things on my to-do list for this week and meanwhile I know I’m going to wake up in the morning and be tired and not want to do anything. Monday mornings are the worst since it’s my first night back after being off for the weekend. I’ll live and manage to get things accomplished but it definitely won’t be right away lol. Somehow I lost my debit card for probably the 5th time this year too so I’ll have to go and get that replaced. Thank goodness it’s free. I have NO IDEA where the heck it went. I just used it on groceries on Friday!

We booked the flight for our Florida trip on Saturday! We are going from February 20-March 2nd and therefore avoiding the insane March Break rush. We paid $990 for the 3 of us (Miles is free) which isn’t bad at all, especially considering my parents are giving us half of that money back. We will be staying at my parents’ cottage while we are there. The kids will sleep in their room in the bed and playpen, Mike and I will sleep in their living room on a bed that pulls out from the wall and they will sleep in their enclosed sun room. We debated over whether we wanted to get a hotel or stay with them and we decided to stay with them because it’s really complicated with a hotel and having kids nap. I have no idea how people do it normally! Like say Miles needs a nap in the afternoon and we had a hotel room....where would we go while he napped if the hotel room is just ONE room? Or say we get home at the end of the day at 8pmone day. The kids will probably be pooped and ready for bed at that point so we would have to go to bed too even if we didn’t want to. By staying at my parents’ place we won’t have that problem because the kids will be in a separate bedroom. My mom is so thrilled that we’re going to stay with them. She loves to see us as much as possible. I think it will be a bit of a tight squeeze at times but fun regardless and we’re spending a lot of time at the Florida theme parks so it’s not like we’ll all be home all day. Next step is to get Miles’ passport and renew Cody’s.

I’m not sure what I’m doing this week with the kids. Miles should be better by the end of the week so I’m going to take them to a favorite church playcentre Cody loves. Miles will probably enjoy it too now that he’s older. I will also try to take them for walks while we still can as long as the weather is decent. My parents are visiting again on Friday to meet with the condo people to pick what exactly they want in their condo as far as floors/counters go so that will be cool, especially since I solo parents on Friday’s since Mike has hockey and isn’t home until really late.
