Oh boy, what an adventure. in All kinds of nonsense spewing forth

I’ve mentioned before that my daughter is a special ed teacher. She has been coming home with quite a few stories that I want to share. Some good, some not so good. So, grab a cup of coffee and have a seat.

The young man age 17 that she is working one on one with has a new type of behavior.....he keeps taking his junk out of his pants and plopping it on his pant leg. When she tells him to put it back in his pants, he tells her he can’t, that it needs some fresh air.....physically, he is age 17, mentally, around age 6-7. Those hormones are racing thru his body but his brain is not letting him make appropriate choices. She said she spends at least 2 hours thruout the day telling him to put his penis away!

Another student, a rather large young girl, also age 17 has become very violent and my daughter seems to be her target. Actually, anyone who is close to her is a target. She grabbed my daughters hair, which is long, and it took 4 staff members to get her to release her hair.....then another day, she was having a behavioral meltdown and tried to rip my daughters shirt off, in the process, putting loads of scratches and gouges in her chest, yup, on her boobies! She has come home with bruises all up and down her arms from this child.

And her very favorite, a male student who is very laid back, got upset when the other teacher in the classroom asked him to do something and literally picked up his desk and threw it, hitting my daughter in the shins and kneecaps, lovely bruises that day!

Whenever she comes home with these stories, as she is telling us about her day, she mostly laughs.....

This is how we know that God has chosen her to do this job. She has infinite patience and compassion. She knows that these kids cannot help their actions and behaviors and she loves them in spite of it.

The best story, the one that made us all laugh so hard was.....a young girl was having a huge meltdown and was becoming very aggressive so they escorted her to the blue room, which is a room with a door and window in it that has pads on the walls and floor. ( she’s a head banger) every five minutes, a teacher walks to the door and holds up a sign asking her if she is ready to come out. Since this child responds best to a sign rather than a verbal command, this is the way to handle it.....a male teacher went to the window the first time and the child shook her head no…she was not ready to come out yet, he went back after another five minutes and said to my daughter and said, we have a problem....this young lady had stripped all of her clothes off....yup, naked as could be, just chilling....my daughter and another female teacher went in and it took them almost 20 minutes to get her clothes back on....the entire time, she kept says that her boobies wanted to be free!

Yup, a week in the life of a special ed teacher!
