we choose a path
our tied hands feel the grip; taught against our skin
we search
searching for the knot to undo our demise

we struggle against the firmness of it’s grasp
wearing weak our wrists
bound by our struggle
the skin burning; burning with a passion and a fire
skin searing as we twist and turn

motion is not our enemy; it is our energy
we grasp at the knot; searing heat
fragile flakes fall
red; red against a pale background

we choose a path
seeking to find the pain behind our meaning
yearning; wondering
the door we see before us
out of reach until we are free

do these ties that bind aim to be our demise?
we struggle; we suffer against the bloodthirsty beast
minds wrought with despair; hope
behind the life we present
worn wrists; red with welts

motion is not our enemy; it is our energy
we grasp at the knot; searing heat
fragile flakes fall
red; red against a pale background

striving to the light
the pain we cause is what we bring
pain; feeling is more than we expect
struggle and power are one in the same

the skin burning; burning with a passion and a fire
