So I ended up making apple butter yesterday with the ton of apples I had left over from making apple crisp last weekend. I did it in the slow cooker and it smelled so amazing in my house I swear I was salivating all day lol. Oh and also I have never even had apple butter before in my life lol. It just sounded good. I had some this morning on toast and it was awesome. It has the perfect amount of cinnamon in it.Yummilicious!
In other news, my kids are sick :( Bummer. Monday night Mike heard Cody coughing a lot and when he finally went to check on him he was covered in throw up. Yum. So he cleaned it all up and then had to bring him into our bed because he wouldn’t sleep alone. So I came home and someone was in my spot in bed lol. Yesterday both boy were feverish and coughing with runny noses. Fun times over here! They’re the same today. And Miles, my wonderful sleeper, woke up a zillion times and wanted to be held. Poor little dude! So yeah, I am stuck in the house since my kids are tired and have no energy.
As much as I am not a fan of it getting really cold out, I absolutely LOVE the build up to the holidays. It’s pretty much just January to the end of March that I think mostly sucks. And this year it won’t be as bad since we are going to Florida mid February. So I am starting to think about Christmas gifts. I think Cody’s big gift this year will be a sled since we don’t have one yet. He has only been sledding once and he loved it. This year I think he will enjoy it a lot more since he’s older. I just have to figure out what kind to buy. Also, I might make a bunch of DIY gifts for relatives since they are cheap and a fun project. So far I like the ones like homemade jam, cookie mix in layers in a jar and homemade bath bombs. I will have to figure out some Christmas crafts to do with Cody this year too. I am so glad he’s getting older since he enjoys more activities now. Like maybe we can build a snowman this year. Last year the snow was so high he would have disappeared if I had brought him in the backyard to build one lol.
Mike also wants us to teach Cody to ice skate this year! I think that is awful optimistic of him lol. We have an ice rink in our mall.
It’s our 4 year wedding anniversary today by the way! Man time flies! I wish we had a babysitter so we could have a date night soon but we will have to wait until someone in the family is available. Ideally I would love to have one date night a month instead of our usual once every 3 months deal. One day maybe :)
