I am about 21 weeks now - so only 14 more until I can safely birth at home or at the birth center! Baby is doing great & moving like crazy. Especially at night. Adam felt her for the first time - he had to wait until about 9pm before she started moving though. He usually misses it because he goes to sleep early and she is most active after he is already in bed.
I am a nurse now! I passed boards on the 2nd! Not trying to work right now, unfortunately though. We do need the money and I would love to work, but I am not risking anything this far into pregnancy. With both of the boys I went out on leave at 28 weeks so realistically I don’t have much longer to work anyway. I would rather just be broke and safe than start something new. I am ready to use my new degree though - I am missing doing IV’s and blood draws and injections!
Beau is doing well - he is in his third week of homeschool and today we had our first “field trip”. We went to an old village called Salem - set in the late 1700’s it is a fully working town with no modern amenities. He was able to learn about making linen from flax and brick making from clay and we were in a tavern that George Washington spent two nights in when he was visiting NC. It was very educational and I believe a little eye opening for him to see how the children worked so hard, even at his age. He was told that by the time he was 13-14 he would have moved away from his parents home and started living in a single brothers house in order to learn a trade or skill. He said he is thankful for running water and electricity and his iPhone lol. I am enjoying having him at home a lot and we seem to be getting the hang of it all - he starts gymnastics tomorrow afternoon and is really interested in finding an art class to join - we are just trying to find one that isn’t too expensive.
