So what most people don’t know about mental illness, whether high-functioning or low functioning, we all suffer from minor aches, pains and strains due to the illness itself, or from the stress that results from it. Because of the constant level of discomfort, appearance wise, we seem to age faster. With my 28th birthday approaching and only a couple years away from 30, I am already starting to notice the effects.
I found this recipe for young and youthful skin:
1tbsp rosemary
1 tbsp marjoram
300ml vodka
2 tbsp honey
2 tbsp black current juice
Squash herbs together with a morter and pestle. Add vodka and let sit for 1 month. Add honey and current juice. Strain through fine sieve. Store in a glass jar. Take 1 tbsp as medicine 4-5 days a week.
After quite a bit of research, I discovered there was a lot more to those herbs than the recipe explained. Marjoram and rosemary have a long history of being used to help with minor physical pain. Black currant juice is a natural antioxidant, but I found out that blueberry and black cherry is the American substitute. Since out of all of the fruits blueberry is my favorite, I went with that. With all of the ingredients combined adding the vodka as a preservative it doubles as a weak muscle pain reliever/ anti-inflammatory and a weak anti-aging remedy.
In one month from today, I will be able to finish making my medicine and begin a weekly journal.
