so tomorrow is my olders boys first time doing the mutton busting event at a somewhat local rodeo. he has been wanting to do this for a while and this is the first time that we have been on top of everything enough to get him in and ready to ride. there is only one problem, well not really a problem, but i will not be able to be there. i am working nights this week and i will be sleeping/just waking up when the rodeo starts. the rodeo is about an hour and fifteen min away from our house. thats where the issue comes in. i mean i could get up a little bit early, get everything together for my night shift and leave and arrive just in time to see him ride, or a little bit before that. then rioght after i would have to leave drive the hour and fifteen back to the house then another hour to work. stopping on the way to get something to eat seeing i wont be able to eat before i leave for the rodeo and i wont have time to stop and make someting before i leave for work. doing this i run the risk of being late to work and possibly getting in trouble for it. it makes me sad that i will be missing his mutton busting debute, but it just isnt something that i will be able to do. i really want to be there, but i have to keep in mind that my job i trying to get me hired on and i dont want to give them anything to use against me for any reason. not that i feel that they would do that. so now my wife will have to tell him that i will not be able to be there. i dont think he will mind seeing he will be with momma and grandpa and possibly grandma. so long as he has fun, thats all i want. i know there will be other times for me to see him ride, and ride bigger things as he gets older. i just wanted to be there for his first time. see the fun and excytment on his face as the sheep bolts out of the schute and him hanging on for dear life. i will be able to see it on video, but it wont be the same as being there in person. oh well i guess. these things will happen. i just need to put on my big boy pants and do my job. lol.
on a more personal note i have been reading and thinking about some things that i would like to change in my life. they are a change for the positive, as if there woudl be a chnage for the worse lol, but they are changes that not only involve myself but my wife and family. some of the things i have been reading about might be a bit of something that is a huge change and others are just some little things. needless to say i think all these changes will bring all of us closer together and make our lives better in every way. i will keep you posted on how the chnages are going.
