Labor day is here! that means back to work this thursday. cant believe my summer is over already! it barely felt like i had a summer because of camp, but it was nice to have the time off.
i just completed my first week lesson plans. remember: i have 19 general music class (pre-k through 5th grade) and i dont see all of those students every day. so i get to do a first day 5 times. ive been planning my year for each grade. the next step is to make all of my flyers and posters for chorus and orchestra. sigh the year has begun! its almost like it never ended…
i already feel like im running out of the gate and school hasnt even started yet. theres so much to do!
one fun thing is my kiddos from the summer are going to be singing for the CMA awards on Wednesday! they are going to be singing on tv on the today show i think. and guess who is going to be playing a little fiddle? yours truly! should be a fun experience, especially for the kids. i just hope i dont screw up! i was asked last minute to step in. apparently, my organization (Education Through Music) has some partnership with the CMAs. once i figure out what show/time we’ll be performing, i’ll let you know and you can tune in if you like!
im ready to go back to work and at the same time i want to run away lol. its so much work and now even more work with the chorus. itll be a good year though. im trying to bring in positivity and try to take my kiddos on a journey every day. i need to give my kids imagination. i need to give them creativity. i need to give them things to touch, ways to move, the ability to be silly and some fun in their lives. its going to be tough, but i think itll work.
alright! ive gotta get going to target for groceries and some other things. ran out of toilet paper today…yeah…also gotta practice my fiddle.
