I know most guys would disagree, but I actually feel like sitting to pee is completely normal and am surprised that peeing standing up is so socially accepted. I can honestly say I have not peed standing up in more than 15 years. The idea, at this point, seems to foreign to me that I have waited in line in public restrooms to use a stall even when there were available urinals.
On a hiking trip a few years back, I had to pee so I walked several feet off the trail to find some privacy. After thinking about it for a second, I realized I wasn’t comfortable just opening my fly and peeing standing up. So I completely dropped my pants and squatted. Anyone watching me would have thought I was insane, but it seemed like the right way to do it.
Sitting down in a restroom is often an inconvenience, and I realize there are women out there that would love to pee standing up if they could. But I also see the positive side. For example, my trips to the bathroom at work take longer and even feel slightly more relaxing than they would if I just peed at a urinal.
