Admittedly, there are types of humiliation that are awful and uncomfortable, but there are also types that I like. I had an interesting example of a good humiliation this weekend.
I was in the mall and had stopped to use the restroom. Something I ate hadn’t agreed with me, and I’ll avoid too much description but at least point out that what I did in the stall was both noisy and unpleasant-smelling. Nobody likes to have to do something like that in a public restroom, but in this case it was a mall restroom on a holiday weekend and there was a constant flow of people in and out.
Well, someone walked in a loudly made a comment about both sound and smell. My first reaction was to be completely mortified. But then as the seconds passed, I realized that I kind of enjoyed that feeling. I even stayed there longer hoping that someone else might say something, but it didn’t happen.
