Enough about bein’ depressed! Life IS pretty stressful, but it is still very good, too. :o) !! Yesterday Joe and I rook the ASW’s New Alexandrian Library Store to a totally new-for-us venue, Philadelphia Pagan Pride Day, held in historic Clark Park in the City of Brotherly Love. The whole twenty-some years we have lived here, we have never really been into the city of Philadelphia. We’d been to the big zoo there, but that’s not way “into” the city, as I recall. Things I’d heard about the crime just really didn’t make me think that any attractions the city has would be worth it! Which was silly of me, really, because ALL cities have crime, and that doesn’t mean there aren’t some awesome things to see and do there!

Clark Park is beautiful and the streets that border it are cool-looking, very old historic brick houses. There are lots of trees. On Saturdays there’s a biiiiiiig Farmers’ Market set up along one side of the park, and there are typical city sights like lots of people walking their dogs, or families out for a weekend stroll, bicyclists, street musicians, and men of the city come to the park to gather and play chess.

It was a big Pagan Pride Day, and we had a great time! The NAL Store brought in $485....not a lot, but added to the $1400 we made at Delmarva Pagan Pride last weekend, it’s a big haul we brought in for the Library, through Joe’s and my wherewithal, hard work, and initiative! :o) !!

It made for a long day. We left the house at 5:30 a.m., were up there setting our tent and tables up before 8, and did not get home ‘til ALMOST 11 p.m.!!!!! We were sooooo late because we had a darn flat tire on our way home!! ARGH!!

It felt so good to crawl into bed last night…the best kind of good, knowing we’d had such a good, productive day and also got to have fun with some friends, and meet many new awesome people!

I am gonna post this now! I hope you all have a beautiful and happy day! I love you friends; thanks for being here.

hugs and blessings,
Nicky
