So we went to the dealership today and bought our new car. So exciting!! It’s a brand new 2015 Nissan Micra in teal. The color is actually called Caspian sea which is pretty cool :) It’s a cute car. There’s a 5 year warranty on it. We had to finance it, of course, but it’s definitely affordable. We chose to go with a new car because the price of used cars couldn’t really top this cars price and so why not go new when we’re going to get plenty of use out of it? One of my brothers bought his most recent car used and it ended up breaking down like crazy so he had to put so much money into it to fix it up which was totally unexpected. Because of this he’s like “don’t buy used!!” to us lol. The kids were a bit of a disaster as kids tend to be while we were signing the papers. Miles randomly threw up on himself and on their floor, Cody decided to flop around on the floor at one point whining “nack nack!!” (snack) over and over again. Miles pooped and stunk up the place and then they both insisted on crawling around the showroom floor until their hands/knees/legs were black. I just wanted to get things signed and get out of there. What a circus lol. We’ll be able to pick up the car in 2-4 days. Apparently there’s only 4 of them that color in Ontario so one of them needs to get here quickly just for us :)

Since we only have the van right now we both have to drive it to work all week which is so expensive in gas compared to a small car. Omg it’s ridiculous! It will be fun to see how long gas lasts in the new car once we fill it up for the first time. And that new car smell. So, so cool! The guy that sold us the car couldn’t believe it when I told him that my Echo that is basically dead has 465,000 kilometers on it. We were able to trade it in and they’re giving us $280 for it which is decent I think. It does suck that we have ANOTHER car payment though. Mike’s car only died last May at which point we got the van. Before that we didn’t have ANY car payments at all. The van has definitely come in handy though. We’ve had so many huge things in there that we wouldn’t have been able to transport otherwise. It’s awesome. And we haven’t really had a problem with it yet.

I’m halfway through my 3rd week back to work and I’m still getting used to working nights. I guess it’s going to take me a while since I had an entire year off. I wish my body would get used to it faster. It’s so hard to struggle not to fall asleep or to have to drink numerous coffees to stay alert when I’m not even a big fan of coffee. Bleh.

Friday I got my first post partum period. It was such a shock! I’ve still been pumping milk for Miles twice a day so I guess that was still keeping my period away. So yeah, first period in 21 months. Definitely not the best time I’ve ever had. Thank goodness we didn’t go too far this weekend.

I went to a big coat sale at Once Upon a Child this weekend to get the boys some winter coats. I found a nice one for Cody for $12 and for Miles I wasn’t sure if I should get a one piece with removable booties/mitts or just a jacket. Cody was much bigger at this age so I put him in a size 2T coat for winter and it was a little big but it still fit. Miles would drown in size 2T so I decided to buy him something new. He’s still wearing size 12 months so I bought him a size 18 months one piece outfit for now. I will probably get annoyed with it and just want to throw him in a jacket sometimes so I’ll probably buy a jacket soon too.

I have one hour left before I can leave work and I’m just sitting here wishing I could GO already! I’m basically done all of my work. I’m soooooo tempted to leave early but we only get paid for the hours we stay so I really shouldn’t so I can make as much money as possible. Miles has been waking up way too early these days (6:30 most of the time) but at least Cody is back to going down for a nap and to bed without a complaint. Not sure what is up with the kids. I think they might have some kind of bug or something because both of them have been pooping extra for the last couple of days and as a result they both have really sore diaper rashes which I’m doing my best to fix. Hopefully tomorrow they’ll be much better.

I’m not sure if I mentionned it but Miles has been doing a new thing where he stands up holding onto something and then he throws his hands into the air. It’s adorable! I think he’s trying to balance without holding on. He does it quite often, looking very pleased with himself. Cody started taking his first steps when he was 13.5 months and for some reason I think Miles is going to be right around the same age when he starts. Which would mean that he’ll be taking his first steps in a few weeks. We’ll see if I’m right or not.

The kids and I are going to visit my parents this weekend. Can’t wait!! Mike was going to come too but then he remembered he is going to a Blue Jay game on Sunday. He bought the tickets a while ago.
