Wednesday I leave for my 4th trip to Seattle, WA for what I call “Labor Dave Weekend”. My big sister and I have made a thing out of going to Seattle together and driving 2 hours East to this sweet amphitheater called The Gorge. If you know me at all, you know I’m a huge Dave Matthews Band fan, along with my sister. I have seen him in 5 states and I believe 17 times (I lost count). DMB plays 3 nights in a row and we camp out.
Danny has never gone with me before but this year, he’s coming along. He’s a DMB fan but, I think he mostly became one so he had something to talk to me about 6 years ago (joking… kinda). Well the first year my sister, Jamie, and I went, we met these guys (2010). They are Seattle natives and been to the Gorge for this weekend countless times. Well, one of the guys and I hit it off and we became fb friends with all of them. I was with Danny so nothing happened. Until the second year. Danny and I were in a weird place and I had an itch to be single. Well, shortly after year #2 of going, I was.
This guy and I sorta dated after but, again I wanted to be single. There’s a lot of bad blood there, this guy hates me, Danny hates him and I’m over here all “just love everyone!”. The 3rd year was the last time I saw him, that was 2012, I call that my fractured foot year. Hobbled all around that place with a boot and crutches. ROUGH! We didn’t go 2013 because Danny and I had a wedding in Chicago. I’m WAY TOO EXCITED to go this weekend I’m just SO NERVOUS if we run into him and his crew. They are all fun and nice people but, it’s still too fresh. Luckily for me, it’s a HUGE event but, every year Jamie and I wander the grounds and meet new people. And I have bad luck with running into people I don’t care to see.
It’ll be interesting. Obviously Danny forgives me for that phase buuut, he wanted to join this year. And I wanted him to join, too. We need this little vacation. Things have been a little rocky with us lately and we’ll have one night in Seattle, just me and him to explore and have a nice dinner. Oh and see Texas Rangers lose to Seattle Mariners. Hah, we suck. Then my sister flies in and that’s what things are going to get wild. Lord help our livers.
Pray we make it back safety and don’t run into the one we don’t speak about! Haha
