Journaling prompt:

How can I retreat from the world in order to refresh my spirit? What are the riches I find in silence and in solitude?

Your Hermit Spark:

Spend part of this day in silence. It could be as little as 15 minutes, or as much as 24 hours. Unplug from all your electronic devices, and go on a digital sabbatical too.

Spend some time outside. Go into your back yard or to a city park. Take your journal with you. Find a place to sit and look — really look — all around you. Up, down, eye level. All around. What do you see? Hear? Smell? Sense?

Listen, deeply, to the unseen and the unheard. Jot down some notes about your experience.

Well this one is easy since my phone shit the bed the day before we left for our weekend getaway. I had three solid days with no technology. No phone, no computer. It was awesome lol. My only regret was I kept seeing so many pretty/awesome things that I wanted to get pictures of and share with #thewitchesofinstagram. Oh well. :(

On top of being electronically cut off, this entire weekend was about being in nature. Camping under the stars, surrounded by trees. And more daddy long legs than I have ever seen in my life. D:< I hate bugs.....Then spending a beautiful afternoon at the beach, with nothing to distract from the gentle crashing of the waves and the cries of the gulls. Laying on a blanket on the shore, cuddling with my Little Bear, feeling his breath on my face…the sun shining down and a soft breeze blowing through…I felt the God and Goddess so strongly and purely.

It was beautiful solitude.
