Silent in Box of Pain

It has been like that for weeks;
doors slammed shut;
plates and cups clinking loudly as you furiously wash them on the sink;
you act as if the burden is on you;
yet you fail to see;
that you were left alone so that you won’t get annoyed at the drop of a hat;
no one asked you for things that you should have happily obliged to give;
you were proud to give the bare minimum;
you act as if it’s a price we have to pay for your support;
everything is about you;
we watch in silence knowing that whenever you huff and fume;
people will still rally behind you;
they’ll find excuses why you did that;
ask me to extend my love and patience;
people whisper I didn’t do enough;
I didn’t love you enough;
I didn’t care enough;
I didn’t serve you enough;
no one dared to grab you by the shoulders and shake you;
watched it unfold helplessly realizing I’m all alone in this;
even if I ask for help;
it’s still my fault;
This is why I stay silent.
