She’s an addict in Two chicks talking while having coffee

M is an addict.

She’s addicted to the attention of negative people and situations.

In a way, I understand, because that’s how messed up it is.

Lately though it’s like I text and she’s not available. Yet I drive by the shit bakery and see her sitting in the window chatting with Mar.

It’s not that she likes who he is, it’s that she likes the routine. So day by day, week by week, she goes to this place at the same times, to complain or whatever to Mar. Socially, not a bad guy, he can be interesting. But everything else is a mess. And while M tells me she needs to break the habit of going there, she can’t.

Maybe that’s what her version of bipolar or mental illness is: the inability to actually enact a change even while recognizing the need for it.

There’s nothing else to replace it. See? So she has little reason to decide to do it.

Her schedule used to be that she’d wake up at 4am, do her hair and get a coffee at Starbucks around 5am. She’d sit and hang out with her coffee crew for a couple hours each morning and then go on about her day.

Now, since covid and the opening of Mar’s sons bakery, that whole routine changed.

There’s nothing either good or bad about this I guess than the feeling I get that she doesn’t care enough to respond. That’s her usual M.O., so I should just stop texting and she’ll pop up again. That’s how to catch an M.

Pretend like you don’t care.

It’s probably best if she doesn’t come here because then I’d be talking for an hour or more. Laugh 😂
