I'm currently avoiding studying for a Large Animal Infectious Disease exam I have on Friday. Also, a Large Animal Digestive Disorders quiz/review I have tomorrow. Nothing new about that. Also, a break from large animal stuff would be cool. Unless I'm petting nice cows. I can handle that. Maybe.
I had a really fun lab today where I pretended to be an orthopedic surgeon. The main professor who teaches us is incredibly sarcastic and has a wonderful, self-deprecating sense of humor. Not gonna lie, I kind of have a teach crush on him. Some people have a hard time with his teaching style but it makes some much sense to me and I actually enjoy when he goes off on weird tangents or stops in the middle of a word and completely changes what he's saying. When talking to us about this lab he said "We'll be doing cerclage wires in lab next week. Most of you will enjoy it. Two of you will poke yourselves and bleed all over and not enjoy it so much. I might be one of those two."
So yeah, they had us playing with fake bones, sharp wires, pliers, wire cutters and intramedullary pins. It was great fun. And I didn't stab myself, woo! And the professor thought our avulsion fracture fixation was really good and wanted to use it as the demo, so huzzah for doing something unfamiliar well!
Going to try cross-posting from OD again as I've been failing pretty spectacularly with it. We'll see how it goes :)
Time to go ponder showering and/or studying. WHEEEEEE
