I woke up in even more pain than yesterday, so I bought some heating pads and Aleve. I was putting pressure on the most painful spot and felt something go "pop", so I'm hopeful that I fixed the problem. It still hurts, but I'm at least able to turn my neck.
I went to meet with the new piano teacher. Roomie and I are both taking lessons (alternating weeks, Monday nights) so she wanted to meet with us to get a sense of where we are currently. I played for my entire childhood and quit in high school. Roomie has never played before. For some reason, when she had me sit down and play something, I got so nervous and couldn't play anything at all. It was horrific.
I'm hoping to learn some sight reading. I'd also like to learn some new, challenging songs.
After that, we went to the movies. We NEVER go to the movies, mostly because nothing ever looks good anymore, but roomie wanted to see Guardians of the Galaxy, and I agreed to go because I am always pleasantly surprised by every comic book movie I've ever seen. This one was no exception. It was pretty funny. Clever, really. I'd see it again (just maybe not in theaters. $10+ per ticket plus drinks plus a box of candy was around $35. Ouch!).
Dinner was sushi at this great little place on campus I've visited twice now. They have the best Sunday Morning roll I've ever had. It has a drizzle of wild berry jam on it which just makes it very interesting (and good!).
Afterwards we stopped at Lucky's for wine. Kung Fu Girl, which is the only riesling I like. Then I drank the whole bottle on the porch while I smoked two cigars and it was a great evening.
Why can't days like today (well, minus the neck pain) happen every weekend?
